ICRISAT (NTV, Kenya video)
ICRISAT, in partnership with HarvestAfrica, has rolled out a project aimed at boosting the production of sorghum. The project dubbed "Sorghum for Multiple Use" (SMU), will show the cereal crop as a food crop, an animal feed crop and a cash crop. Since sorghum is more drought tolerant than maize it has gained more demand from breweries who use it in place of barley, which is more expensive.
